New infections drop to 1,300 as 2 more deaths logged

Another 1,358 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,514,989.

There were 1,620 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,457,118.

There are now 22,183 active cases, of which 21,232 or 95.7% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 21 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 904 (4.1%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 26 are in ICU with 12 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 58.8%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 5.7%.

Another two deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,688.
