New infections top 1,900 as another 2 deaths logged

Another 1,918 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,494,782.

There were 2,124 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,434,195.

There are now 24,940 active cases, of which 23,811 or 95.5% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 22 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,075 (4.3%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 32 are in ICU with 19 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 58.9%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 6.6%.

Another two deaths were reported. Total deaths now stand at 35,647.
