New infections top 2,000 as another 7 deaths logged

There were 2,548 recoveries, pushing total active cases below 30,000.

Another 2,017 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,483,295.

There were 2,548 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,417,694.

There are now 29,971 active cases, of which 28,679 or 95.7% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 19 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,235 (4.1%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 38 are in ICU with 20 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 57.8%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 6.3%.

Another seven deaths were reported, including three who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,630.
