Daily caseload drops to 2,500 as another 6 deaths logged

Another 2,579 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,445,897.

There were 6,055 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,360,061.

There are now 50,294 active cases, of which 48,924 or 97.3% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 34 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,258 (2.5%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 78 are in ICU with 50 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 52.3%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 10.4%.

Another six deaths were reported, none of whom was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,542.
