Daily caseload falls to 4,000 as another 8 deaths reported

There were more than twice as many recoveries, while active cases have fallen to 74,752.

Another 4,006 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,431,073.

There were 10,223 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,320,822.

There are now 74,752 active cases, of which 72,906 or 97.5% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 121 (0.2%) are at quarantine centres while 1,627 (2.2%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 98 are in ICU with 61 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 55.0%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 13.1%.

Another eight deaths were reported, with none brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,499.
