New cases drop below 6,000 as another 5 deaths reported

Another 5,899 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,415,101.

There were 8,434 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,291,447.

There are now 88,184 active cases, of which 86,284 or 97.8% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 159 (0.2%) are at quarantine centres while 1,649 (1.9%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 92 are in ICU with 61 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 52.7%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 12.1%.

Another five deaths were reported, including four who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,470.
