Daily caseload still below 7,000 as 16 more deaths logged

Another 6,968 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,409,202.

There were 8,267 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,283,013.

There are now 90,724 active cases, of which 88,489 or 97.5% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 183 (0.2%) are at quarantine centres while 1,955 (2.2%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 97 are in ICU with 63 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 51.7%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 12.8%.

Another 16 deaths were reported, including eight who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,465.
