New cases tumble to 6,600 as 12 more deaths reported

Another 6,623 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,389,025.

There were 11,233 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,249,704.

There are now 103,900 active cases, of which 101,294 or 97.5% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 356 (0.3%) are at quarantine centres while 2,124 (2.0%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 126 are in ICU with 76 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 53.8%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 16.6%.

Another 12 deaths were reported, including eight who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,421.
