New cases drop to 9,600 as 16 more deaths reported

Another 9,673 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,372,697.

There were 14,267 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,224,125.

There are now 113,175 active cases, of which 110,385 or 97.5% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 357 (0.3%) are at quarantine centres while 2,281 (2.0%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 152 are in ICU with 87 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 51.1%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 17.7%.

Another 16 deaths were reported, including five who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,397.
