Perikatan Nasional (PN) is open to holding talks and negotiations with any political party regarding strategies to face the 15th general election (GE15) to prevent clashes in facing Barisan Nasional (BN).
PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin said more active discussions would likely be held after Hari Raya.
“If the situation permits, we will arrange discussions with any party about strategies for GE15,” he said at a press conference after chairing a meeting of the National Recovery Council today.
He added that such efforts would not depend only on himself, signalling that his coalition was open to any party that wished to negotiate.
Political observers had recommended that the disparate opposition groups unite in facing BN and the Umno court cluster after a string of defeats at state-level elections, most recently in Melaka and Johor.
