Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob today announced special Hari Raya assistance of RM500 for all civil servants in Grade 56 and below, and RM250 for government pensioners.

In a statement, he said the aid would be given alongside their salaries for the month on April 25.

The payments, which will amount to some RM923 million, are expected to benefit more than two million civil servants and pensioners, he added.

Ismail said the aid was being announced earlier in order to allow civil servants time to prepare for Hari Raya celebrations.

“This is also to show appreciation for their service and sacrifices in serving the Malaysian Family,” he added.

“The government hopes that this special aid will help alleviate the financial burden of civil servants and pensioners and encourage them to continue serving with full dedication.”
