Daily caseload hovers at 15,900 as another 33 deaths logged

ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 57.5%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 31.2%.

Another 15,941 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,183,359.

Of the total number of cases recorded, 108 were in Category Three and above.

There were 21,186 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 3,941,829.

A total of 845 cases were admitted to hospital, with 366 (43.3%) in Category Three and above and 479 (56.7%) in Category One and Two.

Of the 108 cases in Category Three and above reported yesterday:

* 26 (24.07%) were not vaccinated or had not completed their vaccination;
* 45 (41.67%) had received two doses of vaccine;
* 37 (34.26%) had received a booster jab;
* 57 (52.78%) were aged 60 and above; and
* 63 (58.33%) had comorbidities.

There are now 206,591 active cases, of which 200,962 or 97.3% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 690 (0.3%) are at quarantine centres while 4,664 (2.3%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 275 are in ICU with 168 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 57.5%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 31.2%.

Another 33 deaths were reported, including 11 who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 34,939.

The country’s infectivity rate as of March 30 was 0.88.
