New cases top 15,200 as 64 more deaths reported

ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 56.9%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 32.0%.

Another 15,215 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,167,418.

Of the total number of cases recorded, 134 were in Category Three and above.

There were 24,154 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 3,920,643.

A total of 906 cases were admitted to hospital, with 348 (38.4%) in Category Three and above and 558 (61.6%) in Category One and Two.

Of the 134 cases in Category Three and above reported yesterday:

* 48 (35.82%) were not vaccinated or had not completed their vaccination;
* 50 (37.31%) had received two doses of vaccine;
* 36 (26.87%) had received a booster jab;
* 69 (51.49%) were aged 60 and above;
* 71 (52.99%) had comorbidities; and
* 2 (1.49%) were pregnant women.

There are now 211,869 active cases, of which 205,927 or 97.2% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 817 (0.3%) are at quarantine centres while 4,843 (2.1%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 282 are in ICU with 176 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 56.9%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 32.0%.

Another 64 deaths were reported, including 14 who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 34,906.

The country’s infectivity rate as of March 29 was 0.89.
