New cases continue to hover at 22,000 as another 92 deaths logged

ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 59.0%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 44.3%.

Another 22,030 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 3,845,601.

Of the total number of cases recorded, 226 were in Category Three and above.

There were 33,872 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 3,502,760.

A total of 1,521 cases were admitted to hospital yesterday, with 634 (41.7%) in Category Three and above and 887 (58.3%) in Category One and Two.

Of the 226 cases in Category Three and above reported yesterday:

* 52 (23.00%) were not vaccinated or had not completed their vaccination;
* 111 (49.12%) had received two doses of vaccine;
* 63 (27.88%) had received a booster jab;
* 144 (63.72%) were aged 60 and above; and
* 64 (28.32%) had comorbidities.

There are now 308,942 active cases, of which 298,123 or 96.5% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 2,031 (0.7%) are at quarantine centres while 8,400 (2.7%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 388 are in ICU with 215 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 59.0%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 44.3%.

Another 92 deaths were reported, including 33 who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 33,899.

The country’s infectivity rate as of March 14 was 0.96.
