Thunderstorms have been forecast in a number of states where the bad weather is expected to last until 8pm tonight.

The affected areas include Kuala Lumpur, which was subject to flash floods yesterday following heavy rain in the afternoon.

Specific locations in Kuala Lumpur expected to experience storms include Batu, Wangsa Maju, Setiawangsa, Titiwangsa, Bukit Bintang, Cheras and Bandar Tun Razak.

Storms are also expected in Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat in Selangor, and Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan.

Further north, Yan, Pendang, Sik, Baling, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu in Kedah are likely to experience bad weather, along with Seberang Perai in Penang.

In Perak, Larut Matang Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Perak Tengah, Batang Padang, Muallim and Hilir Perak have been advised to brace for storms, along with Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru in Johor, and Raub, Bentong and Bera in Pahang.

Kuala Lumpur was hit by flash floods in 29 areas yesterday, with Kuchai Lama and Pudu particularly affected.

Videos and pictures shared on social media showed cars stranded in rising waters while the SMART Tunnel and Kuchai tunnel were both closed to traffic.

Three landslides have been reported in the capital city since then, while hundreds of flood victims were relocated to temporary relief centres.
