Over 600,000 children given first vaccine jab

Some 60.7% of adults have received a booster shot while 97.5% have completed their vaccination.

A total of 661,752 children or 18.6% of those aged five to 11 had received their first dose of vaccine under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) as of yesterday.

According to the CovidNow website, 14,274,843 individuals or 60.7% of the adult population have received a booster jab while 22,946,057 or 97.5% have completed their vaccination.

A total of 23,224,993 individuals or 98.7% of those eligible have received at least one dose of vaccine.

In terms of teenagers, a total of 2,799,485 or 90.0% have completed their vaccination while 2,889,543 or 92.9% have received at least one dose.

A total of 143,749 vaccine doses were administered yesterday, with 47,876 as first shots, 493 as second doses and 95,380 as booster jabs.

This brings the total number of vaccine jabs given under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 66,589,636.
