Nearly 52% of adults given Covid booster jab
This amounts to 12.1 million individuals.
A total of 12,157,974 individuals or 51.9% of adults had received a Covid-19 vaccine booster dose as of yesterday.
According to the CovidNow portal, 22,927,434 people or 97.9% of adults have completed their vaccination while 99.1% or 23,204,846 individuals have received at least one dose of vaccine.
A total of 2,789,988 teenagers or 88.6% of the group have completed their vaccination, while 2,868,262 individuals or 91.1% have received at least one dose of vaccine.
A total of 100,810 vaccine doses were dispensed yesterday comprising 2,497 first doses, 2,603 second shots and 95,710 booster jabs.
This brings the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 63,743,710.
According to the health ministry’s Github portal, eight deaths due to Covid-19 were reported yesterday: three in Perak, two in Kedah and one each in Johor, Kelantan and Pahang.
