Over 11 million adults given booster jab

This comes up to 47.5% of the adult population.

A total of 11,119,363 individuals or 47.5% of adults had received a Covid-19 booster dose as of yesterday.

According to the CovidNow portal, a total of 22,918,854 individuals or 97.9% of adults have completed their vaccination while 23,196,650 individuals or 99.1% have received at least one dose of vaccine.

In terms of teenagers, 2,783,457 or 88.4% have completed their vaccination while 2,865,416 or 91.0% have received at least one dose of vaccine.

A total of 213,226 vaccine doses were administered yesterday – 2,169 as first doses, 2,680 as second shots and 208,377 as booster jabs.

This takes the cumulative number of vaccine shots given under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 62,679,781.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a Facebook post that the nationwide infectivity rate or Rt was 1.09 as of yesterday.

Negeri Sembilan recorded the highest Rt value of 1.13 followed by Johor (1.10), Kedah (1.09) and Kuala Lumpur (1.07).

The Rt value for Selangor was 1.05, Penang and Melaka 1.03, Sabah 1.01 and Kelantan 1.0.
