DAP’s Pasir Bedamar assemblyman Terence Naidu today denied a report by a portal which had quoted him denying that he was the representative arrested at a nightclub in Prai, Penang, earlier this week.

The portal which is linked to Amanah had also quoted Naidu as saying that he would leave DAP and join Perikatan Nasional (PN) if he was indeed proven to be in the wrong.

“If I am proven to be guilty, I am ready to leave DAP and support PN as a new platform for the struggle, and will continue to defend the voters in my constituency,” Malaysia Dateline claimed he had said in a statement.

The website has since taken down the article.

According to The Star, though, Naidu said the report was fake.

MalaysiaNow previously reported that 48 patrons including an elected representative from DAP had been arrested during a raid at a nightclub in Prai.

The representative had also tested positive for drugs.
