Malaysia just 2.2% away from full adult vaccination

Some 99% of adults have received at least one dose of vaccine.

A total of 22,886,013 individuals or 97.8% of adults had completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of yesterday, with just 2.2 percentage points to go to achieving a 100% rate.

According to the CovidNow portal, a total of 23,170,208 individuals or 99% have received at least one dose of vaccine.

In terms of teenagers, a total of 2,767,385 individuals or 87.9% have completed their vaccination while 2,857,194 or 90.8% have received at least one dose of vaccine.

A total of 223,463 vaccine doses were administered yesterday – 3,273 as first doses, 2,114 as second shots and 218,076 as booster jabs.

This brings the total number of vaccine shots administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 59,511,395 including 8,032,484 booster jabs.

Meanwhile, according to the health ministry’s GitHub portal, a total of 18 deaths were recorded yesterday, two of them outside hospital facilities.

Four deaths were recorded in Johor; three in Kedah; two each in Pahang, Terengganu, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur; and one each in Kelantan, Melaka and Perak.
