48 reported deaths take Covid toll to 30,956

Penang reports the most deaths at eight.

Another 48 Covid-related deaths were reported on Dec 14, taking the cumulative death toll in the country to 30,956.

According to the health ministry’s Github data repository, 12 or 25% of these were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Penang had the highest number of reported deaths at eight or 16.7% followed by Kelantan, Sabah and Terengganu at six or 12.5%.

Selangor reported five deaths; Perak reported four deaths; while Johor and Negeri Sembilan reported three deaths each.

Kedah and Kuala Lumpur reported two deaths each while Pahang, Sarawak and Labuan reported one death each.

No deaths were reported in Melaka, Perlis and Putrajaya.

A total of 4,097 new cases were reported yesterday, taking the overall total to 2,699,240.

As of yesterday, there were 57,674 active Covid-19 cases reported and 4,301 recoveries.
