28 reported Covid deaths raise toll to 30,746

Selangor had the highest number of reported deaths at six, followed by Sabah with five.

Another 28 Covid-related deaths were reported on Dec 8, taking the cumulative death toll in the country to 30,746.

According to the health ministry’s Github data repository, four or 14.3% of these were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Selangor had the highest number of reported deaths at six or 21.4% followed by Sabah with five or 17.9%.

Johor reported three deaths while Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak and Penang reported two deaths each.

Kelantan, Melaka, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur reported one death each.

No deaths were reported in Perlis, Sarawak, Labuan and Putrajaya.

A total of 5,020 new cases were reported yesterday, taking the overall total to 2,673,019.

As of yesterday, there were 60,878 active Covid-19 cases reported and 4,525 recoveries.
