Reported Covid deaths see drop to 17

No states reported deaths in the two-digit range.

Another 17 Covid-related deaths were reported on Dec 3, taking the cumulative death toll in the country to 30,538.

This is a reduction from the past week with no states reporting two-digit deaths.

According to the health ministry’s Github data repository, four or 23.5% of these were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Selangor had the highest number of reported deaths at three or 17.6%.

Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Sabah, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur reported two deaths each while Johor, Kelantan, Melaka and Sarawak reported one death each.

No deaths were reported in Kedah, Pahang, Perak, Penang, Labuan and Putrajaya.

A total of 5,551 new cases were reported yesterday, taking the overall total to 2,649,578.

As of yesterday, there were 62,486 active Covid-19 cases reported and 5,301 recoveries.
