Melaka Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali is in a three-cornered fight for the Lendu state seat in the upcoming polls.

Sulaiman of Barisan Nasional (BN) faces Abdullah Mahadi of Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Mohamad Asri Ibrahim of Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Returning officer Mohd Haidir Haron announced the names of the candidates at 10.39am at the Japerun Lendu Complex Hall in Masjid Tanah today.

Polling day for the state election is on Nov 20, while early voting is on Nov 16.

The state election is being held following the dissolution of the state assembly after four assemblymen announced that they had lost confidence in Sulaiman’s leadership.

In the 14th general election, Sulaiman won the seat with a 627-vote majority.
