Daily cases rise past 12,000

Another 12,434 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 2,232,960.

Sarawak recorded 2,967 cases, Selangor 1,362, Johor 1,289, Kelantan 1,125 and Sabah 1,000.

Perak recorded 971 cases, Penang 863, Pahang 663, Kedah 652, Terengganu 612, Melaka 375, Kuala Lumpur 284 and Negeri Sembilan 169.

Perlis recorded 79 cases, Putrajaya 18 and Labuan five.

Another 17,000 patients recovered, bringing total recoveries to 2,037,099.

Meanwhile 979 are in the ICU, including 871 confirmed Covid-19 patients.

A total of 565 are in need of respiratory assistance including 378 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Of the 12,434 cases reported today, 207 (1.7%%) are in Category Three and above. The remaining 12,227 (98.3%) are in Category One and Two.
