Daily cases drop below 19,000

Another 18,762 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,765,016.

Selangor recorded 3,711 cases, Sabah 2,430, Sarawak 2,414, Johor 1,993, Penang 1,762, Kedah 1,585 and Kelantan 1,504.

Perak recorded 899 cases, Pahang 715, Kuala Lumpur 573, Terengganu 506, Melaka 309 and Negeri Sembilan 291.

Putrajaya recorded 34 cases, Perlis 33 and Labuan three.

Active cases stand at 265,274 with 1,007 in the ICU and 464 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 21,073 patients recovered, bringing total recoveries to 1,482,800.

However, 278 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 16,942.
