Over 26 million vaccine jabs given, 30% of population fully vaccinated

In terms of adult population, 42% of adults have completed both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

A total of 26,388,905 doses of Covid-19 vaccine had been dispensed through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) as of yesterday.

Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said 16,545,384 doses were administered to first-dose recipients and 9,843,521 as second doses.

“According to percentage, 70.7% of the country’s adult population have received a first dose, while 42% have completed both doses of Covid-19 vaccine,” he said.

Meanwhile 50.7% of the population have received a first dose while 30.1% are fully vaccinated.

In terms of daily vaccination rate, a total of 525,342 doses of vaccine were administered yesterday, 197,962 as first doses and 327,380 to second-dose recipients.

PICK was launched on Feb 24 to curb the spread of the virus in the country.
