318 deaths as daily cases surge past 21,600 to new high

Another 21,668 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,342,215.

Selangor recorded 6,278 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,436, Kedah 2,143, Sabah 2,052, Johor 1,706, Penang 1,229 and Sarawak 1,216.

Kelantan recorded 972 cases, Perak 930, Negeri Sembilan 899, Pahang 629, Terengganu 594 and Melaka 494.

Putrajaya recorded 56 cases, Perlis 23 and Labuan 11.

Active cases stand at 237,021 with 1,059 in the ICU and 543 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 17,687 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 1,093,503.

However, 318 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 11,691.
