New cases just under 20,000 again as total deaths cross 11,000

Another 19,991 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,299,767.

Selangor recorded 7,338 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,374, Kedah 1,830, Sabah 1,383, Johor 1,344 and Kelantan 1,030.

Perak recorded 953 cases, Sarawak 836, Penang 743, Melaka 578, Negeri Sembilan 564, Pahang 539 and Terengganu 378.

Putrajaya recorded 76 cases, Perlis 24 and Labuan one.

Active cases stand at 230,762 with 1,096 in the ICU and 570 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 16,258 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 1,057,843.

However, 201 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 11,162.
