Double whammy as record 19,819 cases, 257 deaths logged

More than 8,000 cases in Selangor, over 2,000 in Kuala Lumpur.

Another 19,819 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,183,110.

Selangor recorded 8,377 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,467, Kedah 1,371, Johor 1,162 and Kelantan 1,003.

Sabah recorded 949 cases, Penang 867, Negeri Sembilan 800, Perak 662, Pahang 558, Sarawak 552, Melaka 508 and Terengganu 481.

Putrajaya recorded 46 cases, Perlis 11 and Labuan five.

Active cases stand at 210,522 with 1,069 in the ICU and 553 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 12,704 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 962,733.

However, 257 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 9,855.
