New cases drop to 15,764 but daily deaths hit record high

Just over 6,000 cases in Selangor.

Another 15,764 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,146,186.

Selangor recorded 6,067 cases, Kuala Lumpur 1,536, Johor 1,222, Sabah 1,166 and Kedah 1,108.

Negeri Sembilan recorded 862 cases, Perak 748, Penang 667, Kelantan 552, Pahang 475, Melaka 463, Terengganu 425 and Sarawak 411.

Putrajaya recorded 46 cases, Perlis nine and Labuan seven.

Active cases stand at 199,051 with 1,063 in the ICU and 532 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 11,767 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 937,732.

However, 219 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 9,403.
