Over 20 million Covid jabs given, nearly 20% fully vaccinated

Health Minister Dr Adham Baba says 41.3% of the country's population has received at least a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

A total of 20,014,549 doses of Covid-19 vaccine had been administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme from its launch on Feb 24 up to yesterday, says Health Minister Dr Adham Baba.

Adham said 13,500,479 doses were administered as first doses while 6,514,070 were given as second doses.

“According to percentage, 41.3% of the country’s population has received a first dose, while 19.9% have completed their Covid-19 vaccination,” he said.

On the daily vaccination rate, Adham said 512,097 doses were administered yesterday, 315,737 of them as first doses and 196,360 as second doses.
