134 deaths as new cases dip to 16,840

Just over 6,000 cases in Selangor, more than 2,000 in Kuala Lumpur.

Another 16,840 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,095,486.

Selangor recorded 6,092 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,114, Kedah 1,281, Johor 1,104, Negeri Sembilan 1,079 and Sabah 1,066.

Perak recorded 810 cases, Penang 689, Kelantan 656, Melaka 581, Pahang 540, Sarawak 450, Terengganu 258 and Putrajaya 100.

Perlis recorded 13 cases and Labuan seven.

Active cases stand at 183,706 with 1,055 in the ICU and 532 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 12,179 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 902,921.

However, 134 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 8,859.
