New cases stay above 17,000

More than 7,000 cases in Selangor, over 2,000 in Kuala Lumpur.

Another 17,170 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,078,646.

Selangor recorded 7,163 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,138, Kedah 1,212, Johor 1,054, Negeri Sembilan 884, Sabah 776, Pahang 638, Kelantan 615, Perak 596, Sarawak 582, Penang 554, Terengganu 437 and Melaka 416.

Putrajaya recorded 84 cases, Labuan 11 and Perlis 10.

Active cases stand at 179,179 with 1,043 in the ICU and 531 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 12,930 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 890,742.

However, 174 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 8,725.
