Daily cases inch past 15,900 to another new high

Another 15,902 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 996,393.

Selangor recorded 7,351 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,406, Kedah 867, Johor 804, Sabah 712, Negeri Sembilan 625, Melaka 631, Penang 505, Kelantan 502, Perak 469, Pahang 406, Terengganu 267 and Sarawak 261.

Putrajaya recorded 59 cases, Labuan 30 and Perlis seven.

Active cases stand at 153,633 with 950 in the ICU and 468 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 9,471 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 834,858.

However, 184 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 7,902.
