New cases dip below 12,000 as record 199 deaths logged

5,550 cases in Selangor, 1,174 in Kuala Lumpur.

Another 11,985 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 951,884.

Selangor recorded 5,550 cases, Kuala Lumpur 1,174, Kedah 800, Negeri Sembilan 745, Johor 644, Pahang 603, Sabah 474, Melaka 453, Kelantan 386, Penang 362, Perak 274, Sarawak 261 and Terengganu 171.

Putrajaya recorded 51 cases, Labuan 35 and Perlis two.

Active cases stand at 137,587 with 927 in the ICU and 459 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 7,902 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 806,857.

However, 199 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 7,440.
