New cases hover over 7,000 for second day

More than 3,000 cases in Selangor, and over 1,000 cases in Kuala Lumpur.

Another 7,097 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 799,790.

Selangor recorded 3,119 cases, Kuala Lumpur 1,005, Negeri Sembilan 788, Melaka 358, Sarawak 289, Pahang 258, Sabah 244, Johor 224, Kedah 198, Perak 187, Penang 140 and Kelantan 123.

Labuan recorded 93 cases, Terengganu 43, Putrajaya 26 and Perlis two.

Active cases stand at 74,344 with 948 in the ICU and 441 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 4,863 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 719,678.

However, 91 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 5,768.
