New cases at 5,800 mark for third day

Another 5,803 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 728,462.

Selangor recorded 2,108 cases, Negeri Sembilan 741, Kuala Lumpur 628, Sarawak 491, Melaka 355, Johor 329, Pahang 220, Sabah 189, Kedah 186, Penang 160, Perak 137 and Kelantan 103.

Labuan recorded 99 cases, Terengganu 29, Putrajaya 24 and Perlis four.

Active cases stand at 60,646 with 866 in the ICU and 435 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 5,193 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 662,932.

However, 81 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 4,884.
