Former Prasarana Malaysia Bhd chairman Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has been issued a RM1,500 compound for failing to wear a face mask during a press conference on May 25.

Dang Wangi police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, in a statement today, said the compound notice was issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021 as required under the movement control order.

The RM1,500 compound will be issued in the near future, he said.

Zainal also advised the public to continue adhering to the SOPs set by the National Security Council to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

The police had opened an investigation paper after videos of Tajuddin wearing a face shield but not a face mask at the press conference went viral on social media.

Individuals called to give their statements pertaining to the case at the Dang Wangi police headquarters included Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman who had posted a tweet on Tajuddin’s action.
