71 more deaths as daily cases creep back over 7,000

Over 80,000 active cases with 872 in the ICU.

Another 7,105 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 579,462.

Selangor recorded 2,068 cases, Kuala Lumpur 817, Sarawak 703, Kelantan 531, Johor 431, Penang 400, Negeri Sembilan 397, Perak 387, Sabah 318, Melaka 249, Kedah 236, Terengganu 198, Pahang 190 and Labuan 162.

Putrajaya recorded 18 new cases. No cases were recorded in Perlis.

Active cases stand at 80,474 with 872 in ICU and 419 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 6,083 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 496,121.

However, 71 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 2,867.
