60 more deaths as daily cases surge past 7,000 to reach new high

The deaths include a three-year-old with leukaemia in Sabah.

Another 7,289 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 525,889.

Selangor recorded 2,642 cases, Johor 664, Kuala Lumpur 604, Sarawak 513, Kelantan 425, Negeri Sembilan 410, Penang 380, Kedah 336, Terengganu 268, Sabah 266, Melaka 258, Perak 218 and Pahang 211.

Labuan recorded 63 cases, Putrajaya 23 and Perlis eight.

Active cases stand at 63,458 with 726 in the ICU and 373 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 3,789 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 460,062.

However, 60 more deaths were reported, including a three-year-old with leukaemia in Sabah, pushing the virus toll to 2,369.
