Over 600 in ICU as 6,493 new cases logged

Another 6,493 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 498,795.

Selangor recorded 2,163 cases, Kuala Lumpur 641, Sarawak 612, Kelantan 467, Kedah 434, Johor 406, Perak 382, Negeri Sembilan 370, Penang 302, Melaka 165, Pahang 161, Sabah 144 and Terengganu 139.

Labuan recorded 84 cases, Putrajaya 20 and Perlis three.

Active cases stand at 52,106 with 643 in the ICU and 363 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 4,508 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 444,540.

However, 50 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 2,149.
