Death toll crosses 2,000 as cases surge to high of 6,075

More than 2,000 cases in Selangor with 500 in ICUs nationwide.

Another 6,075 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 485,496.

Selangor recorded 2,251 cases, Johor 699, Kuala Lumpur 660, Kedah 445, Kelantan 441, Sarawak 323, Perak 220, Terengganu 203, Negeri Sembilan 189, Penang 183, Sabah 160, Pahang 150 and Melaka 122.

Labuan reported 14 cases, Putrajaya nine and Perlis six.

Active cases stand at 47,340 with 559 in the ICU and 303 in need of respiratory assistance.

Twenty-two new clusters were detected:

1. Industri Bukit Raja (Klang in Selangor; 194 screened, 21 positive)
2. Jalan 223 PJ (Petaling, Selangor; 71 screened, 16 positive)
3. Jalan Endap Sawit (Samarahan, Serian and Kuching in Sarawak; 48 screened, 29 positive)
4. Jalan Tanjung Kupang (Johor Bahru in Johor; 953 screened, 199 positive)
5. Jalan Tuan Hitam (Besut in Terengganu; 323 screened, 38 positive)
6. Paya Rumput Utama (Melaka Tengah in Melaka; 49 screened, 11 positive)
7. Victoria Merdeka (Labuan; 151 screened, 16 positive)
8. Jalan Kampung Bakau (Kangar in Perlis; eight screened, seven positive)
9. Stunggang (Lundu in Sarawak; 135 screened, nine positive)
10. Kampung Tanjong Jujulok (Pasir Mas in Kelantan; 26 screened, 15 positive)
11. Kampung Limau (Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; 56 screened, 27 positive)
12. Pagar Sungai Imam (Tawau in Sabah; 70 screened, 27 positive)
13. Muhibbah Dua (Lahad Datu in Sabah; 22 screened, 14 positive)
14. Kolopis (Penampang in Sabah; 113 screened, 13 positive)
15. Jalan Inang (Melaka Tengah in Melaka; 34 screened, 10 positive)
16. Jalan Kenanga Pertama (Sabak Bernam in Selangor; 200 screened, 29 positive)
17. Jalan Pusara (Sepang in Selangor; 28 screened, 13 positive)
18. Jalan Timah Empat (Johor Bahru in Johor; 94 screened, 25 positive)
19. Taman Sri Rampai (Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 11 screened, seven positive)
20. Kampung Keranji (Pasir Mas in Kelantan; 37 screened, 14 positive)
21. Kampung Batu Tiga (Batang Padang and Kuala Kangsar in Perak; 66 screened, 10 positive)
22. Jalan Senduduk Satu (Johor Bahru in Johor; 202 screened, 16 positive)

There are currently 512 active clusters across the country.

Another 3,516 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 436,116.

However, 46 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 2,040.
