New deaths shoot to 44 as cases stay above 4,000 level

Another 4,140 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 466,330.

Selangor recorded 1,507 cases, Johor 433, Kuala Lumpur 398, Penang 338, Sarawak 324, Kedah 239, Negeri Sembilan 190, Perak 182, Terengganu 119, Pahang 116 and Kelantan 109.

Melaka recorded 97 cases, Sabah 60, Putrajaya 23, Labuan three and Perlis two.

Active cases stand at 42,135 with 482 in the ICU and 250 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 3,432 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 422,329.

However, 44 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,866.
