Telco giants in Malaysia have come together to offer free calls for Hari Raya across all networks in the country.

In a statement, the communications and multimedia ministry said the free calls would be offered from 10pm on May 12 until 10am on May 13, which is the first day of Hari Raya.

The telcos involved are Celcom, Digi, Maxis, REDtone, TM Unifi, TIME dotCom, Tune Talk, U Mobile, Yoodo and YES.

“Each service provider will give this offer of free calls contingent on its own terms and conditions,” the ministry said.

“Users are advised to contact their respective service providers for any questions about this offer.”

Communications and Multimedia Minister Saifuddin Abdullah said he hoped the move would help Malaysians maintain their ties with their families and friends despite the ban on Hari Raya visits undr the movement control order.

“We hope that this pandemic can be overcome through the sacrifices and efforts of all,” he said in the statement.
