Whopping 39 deaths as new cases top 4,700

2,082 cases in Selangor alone.

Another 4,765 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 453,222.

Selangor recorded 2,082 cases followed by Kuala Lumpur (540), Sarawak (405), Johor (348), Kelantan (297), Penang (259), Kedah (226), Perak (172), Negeri Sembilan (122) and Melaka (110).

Sabah recorded 70 cases, Pahang 63, Terengganu 60, Labuan six, Putrajaya four and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 40,101 with 469 in the ICU and 244 in need of respiratory assistance.

Twenty new clusters were detected:

1. Tapak Bina Persiaran Tanjung (Sepang in Selangor; 173 screened, 53 positive)
2. Persimpangan Batu Arang (Gombak and Hulu Selangor in Selangor; 577 screened, 163 positive)
3. Tapak Bina Bukit Semenyih 2 (Hulu Langat and Kuala Langat in Selangor; 169 screened, 105 positive)
4. Industri Jalan Emas (Kuala Langat and Klang in Selangor; 1,588 screened, 31 positive)
5. Persiaran Masjid Lima (Petaling, Klang, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 212 screened, 26 positive)
6. Persiaran Satu (Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 91 screened, 27 positive)
7. Tapak Bina Batu Lima (Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; 372 screened, 20 positive)
8. Jalan Segambut Pusat (Kepong and Gombak in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor; 23 screened, nine positive)
9. Jalan Tembaha Industri (Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi in Johor; 258 screened, 24 positive)

There are currently 462 active clusters across the country.

Another 3,124 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 411,360.

However, 39 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,761.
