3,551 new cases as Selangor stays above 1,000 mark

1,137 cases in Selangor, 477 in Kuala Lumpur.

Another 3,551 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 427,927.

Selangor recorded 1,137 cases, Kuala Lumpur 477, Sarawak 391, Kelantan 326, Penang 305, Johor 258, Perak 137 and Kelantan 112.

Pahang recorded 97 cases, Negeri Sembilan 85, Melaka 82, Sabah 69, Terengganu 58, Putrajaya 12, Perlis three and Labuan two.

Active cases stand at 33,762 with 354 in the ICU and 199 in need of respiratory assistance.

Fourteen new clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Batu Arang (Gombak in Selangor; 27 screened, 15 positive)
2. Industri Platinum (Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 51 screened, 10 positive)
3. Persiaran Meru Raya (Kinta and Manjung in Perak; 45 screened, 14 positive)
4. Persiaran Greentown Tujuh (Kinta, Larut, Matang and Selama in Perak; 39 screened, 11 positive)
5. Jalan Temangan (Machang in Kelantan; 15 screened, nine positive)
6. Jalan Pertama Empat (Johor Bahru in Johor; 45 screened, eight positive)
7. Industri Lengkuk Teknologi (Seremban and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan; 335 screened, 64 positive)
8. Jalan Tunku (Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Putatan and Penampang in Sabah; 129 screened, 10 positive)
9. Kampung Chat (Pasir Mas in Kelantan; 79 screened, 17 positive)
10. Indera Mahkota Lima (Kuantan in Pahang; 301 screened, 18 positive)
11. Jalan Sungai Merab (Hulu Langat and Sepang in Selangor; 295 screened, 10 positive)
12. Jalan Teknologi Kota Damansara (Petaling in Selangor; 229 screened, 58 positive)
13. Jalan Korma (Batu Pahat in Johor; 477 screened, 25 positive)
14. Dah Lubuk Emas (Bandar Baharu in Kedah; 28 screened, 12 positive)

Seven others ended, leaving 418 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,709 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 392,555.

However, 19 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,610.
