The capital city of Kuala Lumpur will be placed under movement control order (MCO) from May 7 to 20, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today.

In Terengganu, 14 townships will also come under MCO, along with Taiping, Larut Matang and Selama in Perak.

In Johor, meanwhile, MCO will be enforced in Kulai and Kota Tinggi.

In Kuala Lumpur, eateries and restaurants will be allowed to operate from 6am to midnight but dine-in will be prohibited.

These areas join six districts in Selangor where MCO will be enforced from tomorrow onwards: Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

This follows a spike in case numbers in these locations, with cases in Selangor alone accounting for 1,548 of the 3,744 infections recorded today.
