23 deaths as new cases push past 3,000 mark again

Selangor continues to lead, followed closely by Sarawak.

Another 3,120 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 420,632.

Selangor recorded 675 cases followed by Sarawak (620), Kuala Lumpur (408), Johor (336), Kelantan (296), Penang (167), Kedah (155) and Perak (117).

Negeri Sembilan recorded 95 cases, Sabah 89, Terengganu 53, Melaka 52, Pahang 41, Putrajaya 11 and Labuan five.

Active cases stand at 31,516 with 338 in the ICU and 181 in need of respiratory assistance.

Seventeen more clusters were detected:

1. Bungey (Betong in Sarawak; 497 screened, 12 positive)
2. Batu 25 (Bintulu and Sebauh in Sarawak; 199 screened, 98 positive)
3. Tangkis Selatan (Tangkak, Muar and Segamat in Johor; 293 screened, 11 positive)
4. Jalan Surian (Kota Tinggi in Johor; 152 screened, eight positive)
5. Batu 30 (Machang in Kelantan; 306 screened, 58 positive)
6. Jerai Maju (Kuala Muda in Kedah; 37 screened, nine positive)
7. Layangan Labuan (Labuan; 53 screened, 12 positive)
8. Taming Jaya (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 628 screened, 43 positive)
9. Persiaran Medini Sentral (Johor Bahru in Johor; 48 screened, nine positive)
10. Jalan Kweng Hitam (Machang in Kelantan; 39 screened, 14 positive)
11. Jalan Yahya 2 (Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 17 screened, 14 positive)
12. Jalan Besar Sungai Jawi (Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan in Penang; 156 screened, 29 positive)
13. Dah Kilometer Tujuh (Baling in Kedah; 32 screened, 13 positive)
14. Lubuk Katak (Batang Padang in Perak; 63 screened, 24 positive)
15. D’Kuala (Papar in Sabah; 440 screened, 16 positive)
16. Jalan Ungku Abdul Aziz (Kota Tinggi in Johor; 175 screened, 22 positive)
17. Taman Sri Lambak (Kluang in Johor; 55 screened, 13 positive)

Ten others ended, leaving 405 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,334 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 387,542.

However, 23 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,574.
