New cases rise to 3,788, highest in two months

1,265 cases in Selangor, 760 in Sarawak.

Another 3,788 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 408,713.

Selangor recorded 1,265 cases followed by Sarawak (760), Kelantan (464), Kuala Lumpur (255), Penang (250), Johor (160), Negeri Sembilan and Kedah (136 each) and Perak (118).

Sabah recorded 89 cases, Melaka 55, Pahang 54, Terengganu 37, Perlis five, and Labuan and Putrajaya two each.

Active cases stand at 29,227 with 328 in the ICU and 161 in need of respiratory assistance.

Seventeen more clusters were detected today:

1. Nanga Tajam (Selangau and Sibu in Sarawak; 104 screened, 34 positive)
2. Sungai Ranan (Kanowit in Sarawak; 191 screened, 31 positive)
3. Sungai Ngungun (Kanowit in Sarawak; 65 screened, 27 positive)
4. Kampung Bergosong (Tawau in Sabah; 32 screened, 21 positive)
5. Kampung Hilir Alor Gajah (Alor Gajah in Melaka; 528 screened, 18 positive)
6. Kemayang (Bachok, Tumpat and Kota Bharu in Kelantan; 17 screened, 15 positive)
7. Jalan Taming Dua (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 264 screened, 12 positive)
8. Air Padang (Miri and Kuching in Sarawak; 203 screened, 19 positive)
9. Perusahaan Baru Dua (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Selatan and Timur Laut in Penang; 3,453 screened, 113 positive)
10. Tapak Bina Jalan Todak Satu (Seberang Perai Tengah in Penang; 61 screened, 23 positive)
11. Jalan Wau (Petaling and Sepang in Selangor; 356 screened, 37 positive)
12. Chersonese (Kerian in Perak; 212 screened, 17 positive)
13. Jalan Agama (Miri in Sarawak; 95 screened, 38 positive)
14. Jalan Dataran (Seremban, Port Dickson; 151 screened, 96 positive)
15. Taman Bukit Hijau (Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 28 screened, 11 positive)
16. Pagar Rimba (Johor Bahru in Johor; 36 screened, 12 positive)
17. Jalan Sultanah (Kluang in Johor; 106 screened, 22 positive)

Five others ended, leaving 390 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,640 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 377,980.

However, 14 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,506.
